With so many entertaining anecdotes over the years, it’s hard not to feel affection for our M-iQ machines.
Some travel the seven seas, working around the clock on cruise ships and other vessels. One was airlifted up a mountain by helicopter – another ran a wash cycle with pulverised earth as part of a ritual purification. And M‑iQ machines also help inclusive workplaces ensure that everyone gets a fair chance on the labour market. No wonder they are now used in over 100 countries, washing millions of cups at huge events, mountains of crockery in commercial kitchens and bulky equipment in the food industry.
The M-iQ has rightly earned heaps of praise – and plenty of awards. Some customers even have pet names for it, and it’s probably inspired the odd copycat, too.
Today there is particular cause for celebration: the 10,000th M-iQ has rolled off the production line, bound for Denmark and Gate Gourmet, one of the world's top providers of airline catering. It's incredible how far we've come since the Ehrlich Brothers magic duo unveiled the first M-iQ live on stage at Europa-Park in 2009. (Did we suspect back then that it would be such a resounding success? Well, maybe a little…)
And yes, you read that right about the magicians. In fact, the M-iQ era has felt pretty magical since day one!
