TIME TO THINK

How Arsenal is showing the way to a better future

The mantra of the virus: keep your distance, avoid social contact. This applies as much to professional footballers as the rest of us, because it is so important to maintain our personal space to protect ourselves and our loved ones. The unprecedented drive to self-isolation is giving us more time to think and prepare for a better future. A look at Arsenal shows that they are already putting a 'better future' in place. This article is intended to encourage positive thinking; yes, football will return and yes, yes, we can return to building a more sustainable future!

LET'S TAKE SINGLE-USE PLASTIC OUT OF THE BEAUTIFUL GAME

Arsenal saved 500,000 single-use plastic cups from being thrown away. It's time to give single-use plastic the boot. The football club realised their responsibility as an international club with fans from all over the world and started the reusable cup project together with their beer partner at the end of May 2019.

Deputy Stadium Manager of Arsenal F.C. Michael Lloyd says “We’re an international club, our fans are from all over the world and if we can just start to influence a few of those to say, how can we be a little bit more sustainable, then we’re doing a great job”.
